Krishan becomes sales director of Blakemore Wholesale Distribution

Raj Krishan (pictured) has been named sales director of Blakemore Wholesale Distribution,  replacing Tony Bromwich  who is leaving the business after six years.

Raj Krishan-for-webIt means a return to the company that Krishan joined in 1988, holding a number of senior roles across the retail and wholesale divisions.

After first working for the West Midlands concern, he spent time with Landmark Wholesale, Today’s Group, Nisa and, most recently, the My Local Convenience Group as format & development director.

Commenting on his new job, he said: “In many ways I grew up with AF Blakemore and have always held an affection for the business. Since leaving in 2004, I have expanded my knowledge and experience by working in buying groups, retail, wholesale, development roles and start-up retailers. I have learnt a great deal through different businesses, jobs and people.

“I now want to bring this experience back to Blakemore by building stronger partnerships with our existing customer base and by expanding the reach of the business across the variety of channels that we serve.”

Managing director, James Russell said: “Raj will be a great asset to our business. He has the breadth of industry knowledge and experience required to help us meet our ambitious plans for the future.

“I would also like to thank Tony Bromwich for the role he played in establishing wholesale distribution over the past two years.”

Blakemore Wholesale Distribution operates from an 84,000 sq ft site at Great Bridge in the West Midlands, as well as from depots in Hastings, East Sussex, and Pontyclun, South Wales. Its 3,000 delivery points cover multiples, independents, forecourts, vending operators, other wholesalers, educational establishments, leisure and hospitality sites.
