A to Z Catering sees surge in sales to takeaways

A to Z Catering, of Hornsey, London, has sold the surplus stock it advertised on this website and is now focusing on sales to takeaways and the public.

“We have started to see a huge increase in sales from takeaways,” said the wholesaler’s CEO and founder Hifsi Ayrancioglu (pictured).

“In the first week of lockdown most of them were closed, but now the takeaway owners are saying that the Government is not helping them and they think they would not get any loans or help from anywhere else. For this reason most of them have started to open again with shorter hours, and they are mostly working with family members as many of their staff wouldn’t want to take the risk to come to work.”

Ayrancioglu also told Cash & Carry Management that A to Z Catering, a member of Fairway Foodservice, has started to focus more on trying to meet the demand for online grocery shopping from households.

“We are now doing free home deliveries to customers in the whole of London, with a minimum spend of £40. No membership is required and people can order on our app.”
