Hancocks’ third generation in new confectionery venture

The two sons of former Hancocks Cash & Carry co-owner Adrian Hancock, who died three years ago, have formed their own confectionery cash & carry business.

hancock-brothersHS Wholesale Sweets, of Nuneaton, run by joint managing directors David and Michael Hancock (pictured), offers free delivery throughout the UK providing consignments are valued at a minimum of £350.

Online orders can be placed for a wide range of brands, including Swizzels Matlow, Haribo and Walkers Nonsuch.

The Hancock brothers commented: “This is what our grandparents did and it’s what our father and uncle did. We both grew up with confectionery all around us on a daily basis. That’s why it was a logical decision to return the family to the world of confectionery wholesaling.”

Adrian and his brother Andrew took control of the Loughborough-based Hancocks Cash & Carry from their late father Ray, who founded the company in 1962. Four years ago it was sold to H2 Equity Partners, of Holland, for £50 million, with most of the staff, including directors, retained under the new ownership.
